We took down our decorations from our Christmas trees. We love the trees with the beautiful lights and decorations but I like to have decorations down before New Year Day.
As we took the ornaments off the trees I looked at each one and decided if I wanted to keep them. I also checked the ones that had not been used either on the trees or around the house this year. Those that had no meaning to me or anyone else in our home, or I couldn’t remember where I got them I am donating. Someone else will love them. A few I am keeping to tie on gifts next year.
How long has it been since you went through your decorations and

Happy New Year, Marilyn! I too like to take down the Christmas decorations before New Year, but for a different reason. It’s my daughter’s birthday on December 31st and I prefer she doesn’t have to share her special day with anything else.
And all my decorations have to “win” their way back into storage.
I took down the ornaments and stored them away yesterday. I just have lights on my tree now. I did look at them and there were only like half a dozen that did not stay for next year’s tree. About 2 years ago, I went through and discarded ones that were really worn out, or no longer enjoyed. Now Christmas Decorations is another matter to handle. I need to go through and discard again the ones that have worn out and cannot be re-made to be beautiful, those that don’t work with a battery any more, and those that need to be passed on to someone who would really like them now. Happy New Year!!!
