Clutter Control 101 Challenge

Monday’s organizing challenge is a fun one today. Don’t you find it frustrating to get out a bowl and put the leftover food in it only to realize you can’t find the matching lid?

Clutter control your bowls and lids. Take every bowl out of the cupboard—check the fridge and dishwasher. Next find all of your lids. Maybe there is a renegade placed on top of a bowl that it doesn’t fit.

There—now you have rounded up all of your bowls and all of your lids. Start matching them together. If you don’t have matches, put them in a plastic bag and put them someplace else for a month, if the matches aren’t found get rid of the orphans.

That is a clutter control 101 tutorial.  What is your secret for keeping bowls matched to lids?

Good one. Off to do that now! Lids/container storage is a tough one. I keep some in a pretty cardboard box on a cupboard shelf. Next to it I keep daily use containers stacked with the lids sideways beside it. I still manage to get stray lids/containers. Maybe this needs to be a regular check. I always save containers as the family always like to take “doggie bags” home when they visit. In fact for one family get together, my niece and her family could not come but I got the message to make sure she had her doggie bag sent home with her Dad!! I suppose I take that as a compliment!

Pantha, You sound very organized! That is a compliment that she wanted her doggie bags! I thought you were going to say you had a party and told everyone the “entrance” was to bring back all the doggie bowls and lids so you would have some to use again.

It is so frustrating to have a container and no lid. So it is one of my obsessions is to have a lid for every container. AND I make sure that they are used. I do a lot of “plan overs” (that’s what I call leflt overs) that usually are good or even better the next time we eat it.

I love–plan overs. It makes them sound delicious.
