Show ‘N Share Clutter Clearing Tuesday

I have been waiting for this day to come so I could share with you how inspired I was by last week’s focus. It was: do one thing that you dreaded or had put off doing. I hope you were inspired too.
Under my stairs in the utility room it needed major clutter control help. I needed to get in there and do some serious clutter clearing! This motivated me to do it so I could share with you my success.
First of all I took everything out except for the shelves. In the very back I had our games which we could never play because we couldn’t get to them. Before I started this project I asked myself where I could put them so we could use them. I came up with a brilliant (even if I do say so myself) strategy. (I will share where I put them next week).
I feel blessed as I blessed many people’s lives because I gave away to our local food pantry several cases of food that I had bought but we never used. And we had a bag of good things to give to a local thrift shop. But in blessing their lives I blessed ours even more. We can now walk into this space and retrieve things we need and use.
I am in 7th heaven from the peace and relief this clutter clearing project has brought me. It no longer hangs over my head. Whew! Do you have a success story to share with us?

Hi Marilyn
My under stairs cupboard looks freakily similar to your before picture but my kitchen sink plumbing decided to prioritize my under the sink cupboard when it popped and leaked everywhere! Still it had also been on my list of dreaded tasks so it was actually a good thing and I too am now in 7th heaven with the result. I don’t have a before picture (due to the emergency emptying at 11pm one night) but you can see my ’success’ with how empty the cabinet now looks here: http://getsetorganize.com/how-to-organize-under-the-kitchen-sink/. Looking forward to your brilliant game strategy!
Chloe
“Under the stairway” is a really spooky place at times. I did mine about two weeks ago to assess food storage and other “items” yep, everthing is easy to get to now. AAAAHHHHHH!!!!! 7th heaven, peaceful feelings. Can’t wait for your story to continue…..
A good time of year to declutter as there are lots of food drives, coats for the needy drives, santa for low income seniors (they need sweaters, jackets and other useful things), toys and coats for kids, etc. I pulled out sweaters/jackets I had several years, still nice, but don’t wear them now, as I got newer styles that don’t attract pet hair. Also donated kitchen items to several group homes, stuff I don’t use (too many duplicates)..
We all must be on the same page. I am in 7th heaven with you both. Chloe, why did you chose to use cardboard rather than plastic under your sink? It can get wet and icky. It does look GOOD though. THANKS for sharing with us.
Cardboard was all I had to hand at the time. I’ve now moved everything into plastic baskets though!
