I have rogue socks that take off for regions unknown; maybe they are going on safari or to a party but then always go alone. This week I have had two socks leave its mate. But it will be sorry when it finds out I was getting rid of clutter by organizing the sock drawer.
To get rid of clutter and organize any sock drawer this is how to do it:
l. Take out all of the socks. Spread them out so you can see every single sock.
2. Sort them by color and then by type (sport, dressy etc.).
3. Pair them up by folding the pair in half or fold one of the cuffs around both socks. Or just keep them flat together, the choice is yours.
4. Place the pairs back into the drawer by type.
Using containers keep them organized so they don’t get scrambled up in the drawer. Now if I can just find my rogue socks so they can live with their other half.
Oh, keep the strays separate from the pairs, and when they come home match them up but if you haven’t found them within a few weeks say goodbye to the single one.
Can you think of a reason to hang on to a lone sock? What have you done with just one sock?

When you have guests come to your home do you tidy up the bathroom and hope they don’t look in your drawers? (They shouldn’t be snooping, but maybe some do anyway).
This is my kitchen resource drawer. Some people call these junk drawers—I say change it to be a resource drawer. As you can see this is a tiny drawer—one of two total that I have in my kitchen I might add.

Are you on overload and you want to simplify your life so you have more time for yourself and your family? Let’s talk this week about how to simplify your life. As a professional organizer I suggest it may be as easy as
Do you have electrical tools that need recharging? When I start doing a project with my electric screwdriver and it only works for a few minutes it is so much harder to have to use a regular screwdriver and I wonder why I didn’t have it charged.
One of my blog readers from the UK said she didn’t know where to start because she needed to start everywhere. (Sorry, earlier I said she was from Australia). I suggested to her to start in one room, in one place in that room. She did it! She sent some great organizing tips that she used to get organized. I got permission to share them with you. This is what she did:
Here is a poem from my daughter Julie
Have you ever played “What if I had three wishes what would I wish for”? Or “What if I only had three months to live what would I do between now and then”? Today let’s play “What if I have three organizing projects in my home to do, what do I do first”?
