What Is The Best Hanger To Use?

This is beautiful organization of all the fruits and things at the Farmer’s Market near where we live. That is the one thing and only thing about summer coming to an end I will miss, no more fresh produce direct from the growers. I will be so happy when this blasted heat is gone and I am complaining about the cold. Actually I love the cold.

I organized a walk-in closet for a lovely woman last week. It really was very organized and functional by the time I finished, sorry no photo—it inspired me to share some tips on closet organizing with you:

  • When organizing your closet face the clothes all one way—the way you will look at them when choosing an article. It not only makes it look nice, it makes it easier and faster to select what you want to wear.
  • Use all the same type and color of hangers. This visually gives your closet an organized appearance.

What type of hangers are your favorites? I prefer the wooden ones for most clothes and those felty/fuzzy ones for slippery items.

Cheap Product To Clear Your Clutter

Organizing Product Review for Clearing Clutter:

This product is cheap (I don’t even feel like I have to use the word inexpensive) as you can buy them at the dollar store for—that’s right one dollar.

I was working with a friend who was just moving into a home and we were organizing her closet. She had several scarfs but no scarf hanger. All of a sudden she said “I know what we can use—shower curtain rings”. And we did.

I think this is a clever product to use to hang scarves from. They can also be hung on the closet rod its self if you have enough room in your closet. What a simple yet effective way to clear your clutter. If you have a drawer full of scarves that are all scrambled you know what kind of clutter I am talking about. Or you can’t find just the one you need when you want it.

How do you store/organize your scarves?

Clear Your Clutter With Crystal-Clear Organizer

Organizing Product Review Friday:

There are so many choices for shoe storage—I am sharing just one with you today.  This organizer is for 30-pairs of shoes.  I don’t even have half that many but for those with a lot of shoes this might be just the ticket.

I found this at the container store. It stores up to 30 pairs of women’s shoes or 15 pairs of men’s. (I guess theirs are bigger).

Secured at the top and bottom of the door as well as at the door knob, for exceptional stability.

It is regularly $39.99 but they do have sales for as much as $10.00 off. What a simple way to clear your shoe clutter.

4 Clear Your Clutter Tips For A Great Vacation

Thursday, June 30th, 2011 by admin

I am a partner with SMEAD products helping to keep you organized. Their last newsletter talked about preparing at work for your vacation. Here are some timely  tid-bits from Smead on how to clear your clutter before leaving the office for vacation.

Vacations are supposed to be fun but if you’re stressed about all the to-do’s you are leaving behind at the office then it’s not so fun.

Develop a set of procedures that you use every time you are going to be away from the office for an extended time. Then you don’t have to “reinvent the wheel”  every time you are going to be gone.

Take time to relax on vacation—Just say no to typing on your laptop while sitting at the airport, drafting letters on the plane, making cell phone calls in the taxi . Stop thinking about your job when you are away from your job.

They can live without you for awhile. ( Shocking but true) Prepare your co-workers or staff to deal with emergencies that might come up while you are gone. Type up instructions on how to handle specific situations during your absence.

Clear your clutter off your desk, assign urgent matters to a co-worker, and direct your voice mail to an appropriate person who can assist them. Emergencies do come up so if you must let one person in your office know how to reach you in case of a true emergency.

What do you do when you leave the office or your home to prepare others to take over so you can have a relaxing and fun vacation?

Our Own Royal Party Show ‘N Share

Show ‘N Share Clear Your Clutter Tuesday:

We had a Royal Party last Friday(complete with the ring) . It was great fun! We watched all the pre and post information and of course the wedding. Catherine (Duchess of Cambridge) was beautiful and ever so regal. And of course Prince William was handsome and such a gentleman.

I was amazed at the organization that went into an event like this. Whoever was over the entire wedding is truly amazing!!

I know they polished the cars, the horse reins and everything else that were on the horses. (I am not a horse woman so I don’t know much more than that). The men with the beautiful black “plume hats” were all perfect. The streets and buildings were cleaned and polished, making sure there was no clutter anywhere.

As we watched we asked, “How much do you think this cost”? Someone else saod, “And how much do you think it cost to clean up”?

I pose the question to you—how much does it cost you to clear your clutter? Or what does it cost you to hang on to your clutter? Clear your clutter day by day, don’t let it take root and live in your home.

Did you have a Royal party an how do you clear your clutter?

Clear Your Clutter Product Review

Clear Your Clutter Product Review Friday:

Is this for you? An attractive scrollwork rack from WhateverWorks. It has three slots for mail, and 5 hooks to keep keys ready to grab ‘n’ go. The cost is $19.99. (Come on—we all know that is $20.00).

I like to put my mail in a basket and I keep my keys in my purse. Plus I have no place on my walls I could hang it. I do think it  is an attractive organizer.

What do you think of this organizer? Would it help you clear your clutter? Do you have something like it now and does it work for you? Where do you hang it?
