Clutter Control For Seasonal Clothes

Friday, March 2nd, 2012 by admin

The words “So Long Winter” caught my eye when I was looking through The Container Store catalog. I found a product that can be good for clutter control in your closet where you store seasonal clothing.

Look at this long-term storage container for seasonal items. It can be a great solution for seasonal storage if you have the space. They say it is made of breathable cotton canvas with a clear vinyl window and is exclusive to The Container Store.

Regular price was $69.00 and when I saw it, it was on sale for $49.00. It got 4 stars out of 5 on the reviews.

Choose To Get Rid Of Clutter With This…

Get Rid Of Clutter Product Review:

This is the coolest product—I was in my client’s home and we were chatting about organizing solutions for her cluttered closet. (Her words, not mine). She said she knew she needed to get rid of the clutter but didn’t know what to do with all the things that needed to be kept in the closet such as back packs her children brought home from school.

This is the solution she came up with, a back pack rack from Amazon. I declare if someone needs an organizing product all they have to do is search and low and behold there will be a solution to get rid of clutter. I didn’t even know this was ‘out there’, thank you Rebekah.

Organize Clutter with this Nifty Product

Product Review:

This is a nifty organizing product a woman I am organizing with picked up at Target.

It is a white board that isn’t just boring white. It can be written on and erased. This could be a good command center board for the family’s activities. What a clever product to organize clutter.

Another one I saw that is available in Target is a ‘Note-it Style Combo Station 3 Hook in black’. There are so many great options to organize clutter now days, all we have to do is recognize a need and then look for a solution to that need.

Hanging Purse Organizer Saves The Day

Product Review:

Maximize vertical space in your closet. I love my purse organizer that hangs in my closet and I was bummed when I couldn’t find another one a couple of years ago. I just found one at the Container Store http://www.containerstore.com/shop/closet/accessoryStorage/handbags?productId=10026837.

This has organized my handbags and other bags for years. It has cleared clutter from my floor and all my bags are easy to get to, to put back and to see.

I highly recommend this product. The container store has patterned ones, mine is just plain. I know Bed Bath and Beyond has plain ones. I hang mine in my closet from a nail but at one time I hung it on the back of a door.

It costs about $20.00 unless you find it on sale or use a coupon.

Recipe Holder Lets You Cook With Ease

Product Review:

You can clear clutter on the counter when you’re cooking by using a recipe holder.

It was my birthday last Sunday and my neighbor brought me this recipe holder. (Thank you Carolyn) It is a nice organizing product. Take a look at it. The magnet holds the recipe in its place. I can put it in the window seal or on the other counter so it doesn’t get splattered with cookie dough.

It doesn’t take up a lot of space and you can probably find them at fairs, bazaars or garage sales. I think she made this one. Sometimes the simple things become our favorite organizing product.

Fetching Organizing Product

Friday, June 24th, 2011 by admin

This is an organizing product I use and love. It is a purse hanger. My daughter gave me one 2 years ago and I keep it in my purse at all times.

It is nifty to hang my purse on the table right next to me when I am at a restaurant.  I think it is safer than on the back of my chair and it certainly is cleaner than on the floor. I have had several conversations start from people seeing it as they pass our table.

Solutions. com sell them for $14.98.  I have found them in different shops on sale from time to time.  I even found one at a thrift store once for $5.00.  I was so excited—it is in the shape of a little purse.

Product Review Friday–Clutter Control With Unique Magnets

Friday, June 10th, 2011 by admin

Clutter Control Product Review Friday: Magnets—

I am not a fan of putting things on the fridge. First of all lots of things on the fridge makes the kitchen look messy and it looks like it needs clutter control. A fridge has a lot of vertical space and many women think every piece of paper that comes into their home goes here first.

Not so! Besides it looking cluttered, paper put on the fridge gets buried under take out menus, flyers, children’s art work, coupons and other random stuff.

As I was thumbing through Whatever Works (by now you know there are a lot of nice organizing products here) I saw these pewter magnets that they say are mini works of art.

They could be placed on the fridge just for decoration or to hold paper. If you have cute magnets make a rule that only one piece of paper can go under each magnet and then limit yourself to the number of magnets you have on your fridge.

Do you think magnets like these can help stop the clutter problem on fridges across the world?

Dymo LabelWriter 450 Organizing Product Duo Rocks!

Friday, May 27th, 2011 by admin

I was asked to review this product and let me tell you I think it is a great product for a small business or for a home business. Rather than telling you how to use the labels or the postage this machine prints I am telling you about this organizing product Dymo Label/Writer 450:

  • * Set up instructions were easy to understand.
  • * It prints many types of labels: Shipping labels, Address labels, File folders, Badges/Visitor labels,  Multipurpose, and Specialty/Retail; all in different sizes and fonts.
  • * It has an address book which means it remembers names and addresses so you don’t have to retype them the next time you need a label. This alone is a time saver.
  • * Dymo customer service is excellent. A (live) person answered the phone that spoke and understood English.
  • * Dymo prints Express, Priority and First Class Postage. All you need is Dymo stamps software, the label/writer printer and Dymo stamp labels.
  • * It doesn’t use ink or toner. It uses heat from the thermal point head to print on specially treated labels.

I recommend this organizing product as it is easy to use, it is stylish so it can stay on my desk top (looks is important), and it prints both postage and labels. (That’s why they named it Duo).

I am being compensated for reviewing this organizing product but I never praise a product that I don’t recommend after I have used it. I always tell it how I see it.

For a chance to win this Dymo 450 email: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it Subject line: Dymo OR go to click here facebook page and post a tip on their wall. Winner will be chosen randomly. Good luck!

1 Hot Tax Tip Using DYMO Label Maker

Friday, April 22nd, 2011 by admin

I wish you all a happy Earth Day and Good Friday.

My friends over at Get Buttoned Up asked if I would post a blog on tips for organizing your taxes. When they asked 2 weeks ago I thought it was cutting it close to the filing tax deadline but then I thought, “Hey, it is never too early to start planning for next year—in fact we are 3 ½ months into taxes for next year”.

Preparation and good paperwork can mean the difference between paying a chunk of money and receiving a hefty refund check. I know we need to pay our share, but none of us want to pay more tax than we owe.

Tax deductions can save a great deal of money. There are deductions (if you qualify) for medical expenses, charitable donations, union dues, magazine subscriptions related to your employment, travel expenses and on and on.

None of these will do any good if you can’t find the receipts or documentation for these expenses.

One simple and easy way to organize receipts (besides doing it electronically) is to pop receipts in an accordion folder, in the appropriate slot that has been clearly labeled. This is a quote from Buttoned Up because I couldn’t have said it better myself:

“To really make these folders pop, use the DYMO LabelManager 360D-Rechargeable Desktop Label Maker. It’s lightweight, lithium-ion battery powered (rechargeable), with a two-line LCD display. The drop in cartridge makes changing the label easy and fast. Like all DYMO label makers, it is easy to use, with multiple fonts, colors, and label sizes—so your 2011 tax files can be bold and beautiful!”  This is a great organizing product.

I personally use this label maker and it is actually fun to pull it out and use. I look around my office to see if there are other things I can label. I have been paid to do this post but everything I have said about the DYMO label maker I know from personal experience because I use it. Start now to get rid of clutter and be ready for tax time 2012 by keeping your receipts organized.

Surprise Organizing Product For Product Review Friday

Organizing Products Review Friday:

Many women I work with want to know how to get rid of unwanted catalogs that they receive and haven’t requested. We all get them and my most recent one is called Whatever Works that I had never heard of. There are some interesting organizing products I am going to share with you over the next few weeks on Product Review Friday.

One that caught my eye isn’t really an organizing product but I had to talk about it as it seems like such a great idea. It is an adjustable wristband that contains geraniol, a natural, plant-based essential oil. It has 400% more insect-repellent power than citronella.

Have any of you used anything like this? Have you seen them in a store? With summer coming they caught my eye. Now I say summer is coming—this week we have had 3 inches of snow on our lawn, but it melts by the afternoon so I am hopeful that the season is going to change from winter to spring and then summer.
