Product Review To Reduce Clutter

Organizing Product Review:

On our vacation we drove from Savannah about 20 minutes to Tybee Island to see the lighthouse and walk on the beach.

We loved the lighthouse but the beach not so much. The wind was blowing to beat the band and it was c-o-l-d. It was great fun anyway.

When we drove back to Savannah we searched out this cute kitchen shop. I went about looking for cool gadgets I had never seen this one before. It is called a Go Hook. It is a magnetic go anywhere hook. How cool is that?  My daughter bought it and is going to hang it from her corner shelf in the tub.

Some things you’ll want to know about this new on the market gadget:

They’re so versatile you’ll get hooked!

Some stuff you should know:

  • Available in 6 vibrant colors
  • Features a flexible hook with two embedded magnets
  • Holds a maximum weight of three pounds
  • Made of flexible rubber
  • 3.5″ Length x 2″ Width
  • Hand wash only
  • It is $6.00 on line

It was hard for her to chose the color she wanted they are all so pretty.

Shoes Blues? Easy Organizer To Reduce Clutter

Product review:

I went to The Container Store and I found this interesting Shoe Space Saver that I think looks like a cool and useful organizer for almost any closet.

“When you have to maximize every precious inch in your closet, our Shoe Space Savers can save the day. Sold as a package of two, each holds one pair of shoes in the amount of space in just one – what a great solution for extremely small closets or dorm rooms! They’ll fit on a shelf or on some shoe racks. A small lip along the back keeps the shoes from sliding off”. They are made of durable plastic and the cost is $5.99 each.

Have you tried this or have you ever even seen this type of organizer?

Hot Tip: Reduce Clutter For Fire Prevention

Friday, September 30th, 2011 by admin

October 1 is National Family Fire Drill Day—that is tomorrow. According to a 2011 Liberty Mutual Insurance survey 38% of families don’t have a fire escape plan.

This is your chance to create and practice an emergency home-exit strategy for you and your family and pets.

My product review is on portable escape ladders. I haven’t used one but the information from Pearl at states that: “all their ladders are designed to be stored within easy reach under a bed, in a nearby closet etc”.

They support up to 1500 lbs, allowing for more than one person to escape at a time. The 23’ 8” length accommodates up to 3 story homes. The price for the permanent escape and rescue ladder is $279.99.

Have you or anyone you know used one of these or similar ladders?

Chief Philip Shaver of Freeland Michigan: “Clean up the clutter. Clogged dryer vents, piles of trash in the kitchen and flammable materials packed around water heaters—housekeeping issues account for 90% of our fire calls.”  I say: Holy Smokes (no pun intended). This is another good reason to get rid of clutter—to reduce the risk of fire hazards in our homes. This is something I hadn’t thought of before.

Organize a DVD Collection or Stack of CD’s

“Real space saver, compact & convenient. Looks good with other surroundings”- quoted by a real customer on Overstock.com who purchased the Bellagio Italia CD/DVD Storage Binders.

We’ve received quite a bit of positive feedback on our CD/DVD Storage Binders as a way to Organize a DVD Collection or stack of CD’s over the past few years, much like the review from the Overstock customer above. When I first saw the storage binder, I wasn’t completely sold that it would make a substantial difference in “my” home. I have always been the type of person that didn’t mind having the original CD’s and DVD’s out on my bookshelves, as long as they were neatly arranged. I decided to give the binders a try to see if they really could reduce clutter in my house.

The storage binders hold up to 48 CD’s, DVD’s or Blu ray DVD’s and can be expanded to hold 60-72 discs with additional inserts. I quickly filled two binders with my DVD collection and discarded the original DVD packaging.

I did the same thing to my CD collection in another two binders. I used 4 black binders, even though they also come in brown and burgundy, to arrange all my discs, and set them nicely on the bookshelf.

One of our customer reviews remarked, “If you are looking for ways to store your CD’s and DVD’s in a decorative setting, this is the binder you are looking for.
The best thing about this binder is it looks like a book in my library; it is not too wide and it doesn’t extend beyond the size of other books”.-Amazon customer.

No matter if you are playing today or working on reducing clutter in your home I wish you a happy, fun and joyous day.
