What is Your Secret to Family Taking off Shoes at Door?

What a great idea these shoe racks are in the garage. These are inexpensive cubes which can be purchased at places like IKEA, variety stores, home centers, specialty stores, and container stores.
This one is in the garage and obviously they keep their outdoor shoes in it. Because it is vertical it doesn’t take up much space, the shoes are handy when leaving the home and the mud stays outside.
This is large enough that it can also be used for other items like the yellow pages phone book. They don’t use them very often as they prefer the Internet, yet the books are handy to the kitchen if they do ever want them. (Maybe as a booster chair for little children to sit on).
When I work with people in their homes as a professional home organizer I find it has become acceptable to remove shoes before going into the house, in fact it is encouraged to do so. Some of us struggle with our family members to do this.
What solution have you used to get your family to take their shoes off outside? Where do they put them when they do take them off?
