5 Tips To Prevent Water Damage In Your Home
June 27th, 2008
I used to work with a woman who came home from vacation to find the first floor of her home flooded. The tap where the water turns on to the washing machine had broken in their absence. The washing machine was on the second floor of her home; so two floors were flooded.
One of the repairmen advised to always turn off the water to the washing machine when you are away from home for any length of time. Have you ever know of someone this problem has happened to?
Want to know the top 5 sources of water damage in homes?
•Toilet. Don’t over stuff with tissue, and know where the shutoff valve is located.
•Washing machine hose. Make sure it is properly connected.
•Water heater. Maintain it properly
•Ice maker. Check the supply line for leaks or blockages every six months
•Tub and Shower. Maintain caulking to prevent leaks
An ounce of prevention is worth a pound—Oh, I can’t remember what, that’s going to drive me crazy. (If you know the rest of this saying, please comment and let me know).

An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of CURE.
For reference, if you just type the part of the quote you DO know (wrapped in quotation marks) into Google, you’ll almost always get what you want. It’s great for finding obscure song lyrics, too.

Julie, THANK YOU That was driving me nuts but I wanted to use the saying. And thank you for letting me know about how to Google it. What a great tip.
And so many times we have tried to figure out words to a song, now we won’t have to drive ourselves crazy thanks to you.
